To consider the day of surgery

Notify your doctor of all medical history for your safety

Be at the clinic on time and do not consume any liquids or food at least 12 hours. Do not drink even water. In case you suffer of hypertension or diabetes, you should take the medicine at 6:00 am with only one spoon of water.

Magnified photocopy of identity card or passport.

8 days before the surgery, do NOT take aspirin or any medication such as Alka-Seltzer, Excedrin or ginkgo biloba.

8 days before the surgery DO NOT smoke or drink alcohol.

Bring surgery kit or post-surgical bra or recommended waist band.

Come with comfortable clothes. For breast surgery bring blouse with buttons on front.

Do not use makeup, contact lenses and remove all jewelry such as earing, watches, piercing, etc.

Shave completely your pubic area.

Removed all polish and fake nails from fingers and toes.

Bath with antibacterial soap, Wescohex included in the surgical kit. Clean very well your navel.

If using dentures bring the case to store them in.

DO NOT wear hair extensions.

Keep in mind after surgery

  • Lipectomy (Liceptomía)

    Move and exercises the lower limbs as nurses taught you. Must walk every 2 hours. The bed is only for sleeping.

    When moving do it slowly, crouch and lean on someone else. Walk short distances (to keep the wound from opening or turning black). Sleep using a half-sitting position. You must always get on your side when getting out of bed, if possible with the help of someone.

    The container of blood draw (Hemovack) must be emptied 2 times a day, according to instructions

    Wound dressings must not be removed. The area should NOT be wet or cleaned. It is very important while bathing not to wet this area.

    Practice good hygiene after each bowel movement.

    The day after surgery you should be attended an appointment to review the wound and start the massages. You must use the corset as long as possible. DO NOT use corset with a lot of pressure or abdominal template.

    Do not massage the abdomen, and do not take medicine or treatments for obesity or any similar drugs. DO NOT put ice or heat in surgical areas.

    Only the surgeon is authorized to perform after surgery procedures. DO NOT allow another person to make punctures to “drain” or any curing process on your surgical wounds.

    Start prescription medication upon getting home. Do not take any other medicine unless it is prescribed by your surgeon. Take medication with meals.

    You can only start your diet after the fifth (5) day of surgery.

    Drink plenty of liquid, iron-rich foods such as spinach, lentils, beets, liver, blackberry and grape juice.

    Avoid fats, dairy products and condiments.

    Do NOT make efforts or exposure your self to sunlight or direct light because the skin blemish.

  • Liposculpture

    After surgery you must walk every 2 hours, sit to have a meal, etc. Always leaning on someone else.

    After sugery walk as usually, do NOT stay in bed.

    It is normal that bloody fluid comes out from surgical wounds. Do NOT panic. This is a liquid that is introduced during surgery and can go out in big quantities. It normally drains the first 24 hours, although some wounds can drain for longer.

    Practice good hygiene after each bowel movement.

    The day after surgery you should be attended an appointment to review the procedure done.

    The day after surgery you should use the corset as long as possible. DO NOT use corset with a lot of pressure or abdominal template until your surgeon tells you.

    Start the post-surgical massages the day after surgery. The massages should be monthly. DO NOT use machines, only ultrasound.

    The diet is very important for best results. You should start on the third (3) day after surgery. The first few days you can eat food in quantities that you decide, but without fat, milk and condiments.

    Do NOT do mesotherapy, or take drugs for obesity or any other treatmen. DO NOT put ice or heat on surgical areas.

    Only the surgeon is authorized to perform after surgery procedures. DO NOT allow another person to make punctures to “drain” or any curing process on your surgical wounds.

    Start prescription medication the day of the surgery. Do not take any other medicine unless it is prescribed by your surgeon. Take medication with meals.

    On the following cases you or your family must immediately call your surgeon:

    • Breathing difficultly
    • Ddd
    • Fever
    • Pain or heat feeling on surgical areas.
    • Dizziness or inability to stand up.
    • Somnolent patient.
    • The patient does NOT respond correctly to any call.

    Drink plenty of liquid, iron-rich foods such as spinach, lentils, beets, liver, blackberry and grape juice.

    You must sit on the cushion for 25 to 30 days.

    Fat implanted in the buttocks depends on the care of each patient.

    Do NOT exposure your self to sunlight or direct light because the skin blemish.

  • Breast Pexia

    Once you get home you can walk if you feel able to. Do NOT make any efforts with your arms. Just do the exercises according to nurse instructions.

    Microspores on wound should NOT be removed. The area should NOT be wet or cleaned. It is very important while bathing not to wet this area.

    The day after surgery you should be attended an appointment for review

    Do NOT make any breasts massages. Do NOT put ice or heat on the surgical wound. Do NOT make any effort.

    Only the surgeon is authorized to perform after surgery procedures. DO NOT allow another person except the nurse to heal your wounds.

    Start prescription medication the day of the surgery. Do not take any other medicine unless it is prescribed by your surgeon. Take medication with meals.

    On the following cases you or your family must immediately call your surgeon:

    • Breathing difficultly
    • Ddd
    • Fever
    • Pain or heat feeling on surgical areas.
    • One breast bigger than the other.
    • Somnolent patient.

    You must use post-surgical bra for the first 3 months.

    Sleep with 3 pillows or inclined so you do not have to make any chest efforts.

    Use moisturizer and do NOT exposure your self to sunlight.

    Drink plenty of liquid, iron-rich foods such as spinach, lentils, beets, liver, blackberry and grape juice. Avoid fats, milk products and condiments.

  • Rhinoplasty

    Put ice the first 72 hours after surgery.

    The day after surgery you should be attended an appointment for review.

    Sleep with 3 pillows for the first few days.

    Do NOT wet the bandage to avoid released.

    Clean your nose very gentle according to nurse instructions.

    If you present the following symptoms, please contact your surgeon:

      • Fever
      • Back redness.
      • Nose trauma.
      • Massive bleeding from nose or mouth if hitting.

    Do NOT change your bandage yourself.

    Do NOT take un-prescribed medicine such as creams, tablets or drops.

    Drink plenty of liquid and start a soft diet.

    Once the bandages are removed, you must take the following precautions:

    • Do NOT expose your self to sunlight
    • Use sunscreen
    • Do NOT wear glasses the first 3 months after surgery.
    • Do NOT lay on your nose the first 3 months.

    DO NOT take aspirin or its derivatives 2 weeks before and after surgery.

    Fatigue is common after surgery.

    Before making any determination by yourself, ask your doctor any concerns you have.

    Shock and trauma alter the final aesthetic results of surgery.

    During the first 2 weeks avoid blowing your nose or removing deep crusts.

  • Breasts Implants

  • Blepharoplasty

    Put ice the first 72 hours after the surgery to reduce welling around your wound, intermittent for 3 minutes.

    Start your diet with liquids the night of the surgery.

    Sleep with 3 pillows under your head the first week after the surgery.

    Do NOT use contact lenses the first week. Wear sunglasses while your purples are gone. Do NOT wear makeup for the first 2 weeks.

    Do NOT take aspirin or any other medicine.

    Avoid heavy exercise.

    Only take prescribed medicine.

    Try NOT to gesticulate or moving your face too much.

    On the following cases you or your family must immediately call your surgeon:

    • Fever
    • Increased redness edema.
    • Pus in your wounds.
    • NO improvement.

    Massage as recommended by nurse.

    Do NOT expose yourself to sunlight or white light.

    Use moisturize and sunblock.
